Employment Information for Canada Summer Jobs Participants

Welcome to the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program! Your employer has given you this document provided by CSJ to help you navigate your summer work experience.

Young Workers
As a participant in the CSJ program, you must review the Young Workers website. This site
provides important information about health and safety, employee rights, employment laws and
more.
Starting to Work
If this is your first job or if you would like to know more about taxes and the forms you need,
visit Starting to Work by the Canada Revenue Agency. You can learn about why you need a
social insurance number (SIN), when to fill out a TD1 form, and what’s on your pay stub and
T4 slip.
Participating in CSJ
To make sure you are eligible for CSJ, your employer will ask you to fill out a form at the start
of your job. This form allows us to collect important information on who is participating in CSJ
and will require your social insurance number, date of birth, and residency status.
Youth Participant Questionnaire
Please fill out the anonymous Youth Participant Questionnaire at the end of your summer job
to give feedback on your experience with CSJ.
